Three Issues to Tackle to Make the Relocation Decision Easier for Transferees

When it comes to relocation, I think we all want the same thing: an employee that is happy, focused and engaged in their work at the new location. With the ever-changing relocation environment and a less than ideal economy, however, many companies have made major cuts to policies offered to transferring employees. In addition to corporate changes, the same issues have led employees to evaluate relocation opportunities even more carefully than they have in the past. So, the question is, how can you design relocation policies to fit your company budget but also attract your necessary talent?

A Vocabulary Lesson for Home Buying Transferees

My fiancé and I are inches away from closing on our first home. It has been a whirlwind of an experience, especially as we plan a move in the middle of the busy summer season. While I was pretty well informed going into the Home Buying Vocabularytransaction (several years in the relocation industry helps with that kind of stuff), I still learned a lot throughout the process and it made me realize, I’m probably not alone. Brexit and Global Mobility

It’s an obvious fact that Britain’s vote to leave the EU will have repercussions here in the states. We are already recognizing an impact on US mortgage rates, and though there is still quite a bit of uncertainty regarding how the decision will impact HR, most companies foresee some major issues in the realm of talent retention and definitely global mobility. The largest implications in terms of mobility will undoubtedly include both household goods management and visa/immigration.
