WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND IN RELOCATION?
I have worked in the relocation and transportation industry since 1987. My career started in the household goods moving industry as the owner of a North American Agency. I sold that business in 1992 and purchased a Mayflower Moving & Storage Company. In 2005, I sold it and came to work for XONEX Relocation as VP of Business Development.
WHAT ARE YOUR AREAS OF EXPERTISE AND INTEREST?
My areas of expertise include helping prospective clients effectively plan domestic and international relocation services so that they can build the best program for both the company and their relocating employees. I’m particularly interested in global mobility as more corporations are expanding internationally. I find the challenges associated with transferring employees around the world to be fascinating in nature.
In addition to the business development side of the business, I am also involved in the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council because I think diversity in business is critical. I’d like to see more female leadership in the moving and relocation industry and am constantly striving to demonstrate the benefits that a diverse environment can bring to any business.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WORKING IN THE RELOCATION INDUSTRY?
The relocation industry is ever changing and it’s important to stay abreast of what’s happening. If not you’ll get lost in the shuffle. People that are attracted to the relocation industry tend to be warm, friendly and interested in networking!
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN?
I love to buy and sell antiques and collectibles with my mom. We often travel together to flea markets and shows to find hidden treasures. I also enjoy making “diaper cakes” for baby showers, cooking new and exciting dinners for my husband and relaxing at the beach!
