WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND IN RELOCATION?
While I am relatively new at XONEX Relocation, I’ve been around the moving and relocation industry for most of my life. It’s amazing what you can pick up through years of osmosis. Every day I strive to develop a comprehensive understanding of relocation services and new trends, so that I can facilitate and join interesting and fun conversations about employee relocation.
WHAT ARE YOUR AREAS OF EXPERTISE AND INTEREST?
Prior to joining XONEX Relocation, I worked at BlissPR, a B2B public relations agency in New York, where I represented companies in the retail, accounting, human resources and real estate industries. I’ve always specialized in high visibility media relations campaigns, but for the past three years I’ve focused on social media and it’s been a great fit for me. I love using social media tools, including blogging, Twitter and LinkedIn to engage with our peers, clients and prospects in real time.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WORKING IN THE RELOCATION INDUSTRY?
I like that the relocation industry is very customer centric. Whether it’s a corporate client or a transferee, it’s our job to help someone at every point during a move and that lends itself well to creating useful content and engaging with people on a more personal level. Also, for most of my career I’ve worked with HR and leadership consultants that specialized in everything from executive search to talent management – in many ways corporate relocation is a natural extension of that work.
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN?
People are always surprised to hear that when I’m not online, I’m completely unplugged somewhere quiet. Delaware is a beautiful state with a lot of great outdoor activities and a vibrant community. Most often you can find me hiking, practicing yoga or teaching myself how to cook something from one of the local farms.
