|Meet ROXANNE KOROSTOWSKI
Vice President of Relocation Operations
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND IN RELOCATION?
All of my previous positions prepared me for a career in relocation. I have experience in sales, purchasing and vendor management and the administration of corporate support services and other non-core benefits. Each of these jobs gave me an opportunity to hone skill sets that are critical for effectively administering relocation services. Specific to the industry, I have more than 10 years of experience running a relocation program for a major Fortune 500 corporation. The program started out in-house and was later transitioned and effectively outsourced to a 3rd party relocation management company.
WHAT ARE YOUR AREAS OF EXPERTISE AND INTEREST?
I have a strong corporate background, so I genuinely understand the pressures that HR managers face when it comes to relocation issues. I know first-hand the challenges that they are facing internally, as well as the emotions that their transferees will face during the transition. As far as interests, I have a desire to make sure everyone feels that my team and I have done all we can to successfully move their transferees from point A to point B, while following the parameters outlined in the relocation policy and meeting the client’s talent management goals.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WORKING IN THE RELOCATION INDUSTRY?
I am the type of person that finds great satisfaction in resolutions, completions and seeing progress. The relocation industry offers all of that – it’s very rewarding to see the team successfully work through transferee challenges and, consequently, transferees that are happy because their move was as seamless as possible. Even challenging relocations have a silver lining – they become a great developmental opportunity for new skills and program ideas.
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN?
In the summer you can find me on the beach down at the Jersey shore – not to be confused with the TV show! I also like relaxing with a good glass (or two) of red wine and entertaining friends and family. Otherwise, there is no better way to pass the time than reading a fun novel on my Kindle!
